What a funny article, Joel! I feel like I'm right next to you listening in to your conversations. I'd like some of those large shrimps, please.

Joel, Thanks for giving your readers a peak into the excitement happening on our stage right now as we rehearse Musical of Musicals. It truly is "a gift from the musical theatre gods" as TalkinBroadway said of the New York production. I agree that it would be wonderful for everyone to have the opportunity to attend a first read thru and then see the finished product 3, 4, or 5 weeks later. It is a remarkable process to witness. Joel you are welcome back anytime to report on the progress of the show and to continue to encourage readers to come see this great cast in a very funny, but lovingly rendered show. For parody to work it has to be done with love.
With love,Carolyn

After his stint in Assassins, Andy Browstein appeared in
Short Order Stories by Rene Calarco directed by Joe Calarco at Charter,The Christmas Foundling by Norman Allen directed by Gregg Henry at Journeymen, as well as staged readings of “Holding Pattern,” again directed by Joe Calarco at Signature, and “The Meanwhile Figure” at Charter. I’m glad to see directors are keeping him busy. Can’t wait to see you Andy in future productions. Best of luck at The Helen Hayes. I’ll be rooting for you!! Joel

Thanks Joel. We are really looking forward to the upcoming opening of "The Musical of Musicals (the Musical!). Donna, Bobby, Janine, Russell -- along with Music Director Dan Kazemi -- will be terrific. The show is a "must see", for musical theater enthusiasts especially. We are fortunate that we get to do the Washington area premiere, and put our own stamp on such a great piece.

Another well written, informative and humorous article from Joel. I was laughing so hard reading the Helen Hayes Nosh that I will have to read it again to make sure I didn't miss anything the first time. Thank you, Joel for all you do for the theater community in DC! And for making us laugh as you report.

Edward:
To be surrounded by so much talent was thrilling. To be at the first read-through of a show I love, and to watch 4 of the best actors/singers in our area attack and make funny material funnier, was an experience I wish every theatre lover could have seen. I hope you will buy tickets to see The Musical of Musical. You'll have a great time.
