Thanks for the insight and comments, Richard. I enjoy your articles immensely. I saw 'Rock and Roll" in London a little over a year ago, and I share your views except that, for me - the music was the best part of the show. Good acting, etc., but the story was so deadly boring at least the music kept me from snoring and waking up the rest of the audience. The show went on for almost 3 deadly hours in London, and at the end all I could think of was why did they bother. The show added not bit of pleasure or informaton to my life. I guess when you are Tom Stoppard, there is money in everything you write so there are no lack of producers willing to mount the show. But for the life of me, I can't understand how professional reviewers could write such favorable reviews. I think maybe I have stayed too long at the fair!
