New Company in the Business of Works in Progress
⊆ February 23rd, 2008 by lorraine treanor | ˜Artist’s Bloc, a new nonprofit corporation which seeks to combine disciplines into original types of artistic presentations, holds its inaugural showing, 12 X 6, in the Atlas Performing Arts Center’s H Street space tonight.
The show will feature works by Chris Strezin, Nancy Havlik and Shawn Short as well as dancers Beth Loosmore, Diane Circone, Ken Mannheim and Adrian Moore.
According to Artistic Director Colin Hovde, Artist’s Block will feature residencies, workshops, and showcases as well as performances, and will “fill a gap separating performing artists; dancers, actors, directors, writers, improvisational performers, and others.” Tonight’s show begins at 8 p.m. at 1333 H Street NE. Admission is $10.
