I was truly moved to tears when she sang. My children and I are still talking about that show and that's the mark of a incredibly memorable performance by all .As for Justin,he really is adorable. He has a presence on stage that cannot be overlooked and a voice to match. I saw Birdie many times over the past weekend and Justin just kept on getting funnier and cuter each time!! The girl who played Lisa was amazing but I thought the guy (can't remember his name) who played like 7 or 8 parts (Candle store guy, music guy, etc) was the standout in that show. We were having a tough time casting the part of Lisa - it is my favorite character, and we wanted to find someone who was just right. Karissa popped up at the very last moment asking if we were still looking for females, and remembering how impressed we were with her work in a small role in NINE a couple years ago, I knew she would be a perfect match. He and the rest of the talented young cast gave their hearts and souls to the production and the amazing songs by Stephen Schwartz. And what a thrill for them and everyone in the audience when Stephen flew into town to see a performance and give a talk back. I am glad you were there to bear witness on the impact Stephen has had on theatre lovers of all ages (from the young children in the audience who knew all the words to the audience members who knew Stephen from their days with him at Carnegie Mellon). Stephen Schwartz is an incredibly generous artist, both with his music and with the time and the attention he gives his fans.
