I've known Virginia since she was a little girl and am always amazed at how quickly I stop seing Virginia and start seeing the character she's playing. I saw both A View from the Bridge and Death of a Salesman and was impressed with her acting in each.

I'm sorry, is it really relevant to list an infamous world-travelling actress as an option for best performance on DC Theatre Scene? If I have a pet peeve, it's touring shows being up for local awards. The out-of-town awards are the biggest waste of time at the Helen Hayes each year, the actors are rarely there to receive them and it's silly of us to give them. Of course these performers are great. That's why they're touring nationally.
