I know the temptation with classic musicals is to say "but I've seen it so many times." As Joel indicates, though, Andy's Pseudolus is fresh, funny, and different from any of the half dozen other performances I've seen in the role. I also want to echo Joel's anticipation for "Next to Normal." I went to a cabaret performance at the Kennedy Center back in the spring with Alice Ripley and Emily Skinner. Alice sang a song from "Next to Normal" that was powerfully touching and spoke of her love for the show. I believe this production will be even better from the prior off-Broadway version and I am eagerly looking forward to it.
