Hi Joel. What a fantastic article about the Hard Luck Cafe. I really appreciated that you took me up on my offer to see the reading. I felt so privileged to be a part of this cast. I want to thank the entire cast and production team. I am keeping my fingers crossed for Karin that her dream of having Hard Luck produced as a musical will come to fruition. Karin is so talented and deserves a lot of recognition!

Dear Joel,
Your article noting that you found the staged reading of Welcome to the Hard Luck Cafe to be an "emotional evening," which you hope to see again in production means a great deal. I also owe a debt of gratitude to Jeff Severson for producing the songs that initially generated interest on the part of the director, Chuck Whalen. Jeff's faith in the music and his rock, R and B and blues arrangements brought the songs to life in a way that I had only envisioned. Not only were Jeff's productions a worthy investment, but Jeff and Chuck were both great to work with. I am very grateful to them, and to you.
Thanks and best wishes to you all,

What fabulous music! Would it be possible to purchase a CD of the Hard Luck Cafe music? The singers were exceptional. And, the words of the songs speak to everyday issues, fears, and hopes. I hope this musical makes it on stage!

Thank you also for doing such a good job on the article; you made us feel like we were there.
