If you did not get the first comment: Would like to know when this new play will be in NYC? My husband is 88 years old and his legs get too tired to walk too many steps. This has limited our trips to "Broadway." It would fill our hearts with joy to see this,

When will this new play open in NY? I am very anxious to see this. My husband is 88 years old and going to theaters requiring too many steps has limited our trips to "Broadway." Howeverm this will fill our hearts with joy,

Mr. Bikel will be taking the show to Parker Playhouse in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida from January 28th to February 1st. http://parkerplayhouse.com/Events/ It would be great if someone moved the show to a small NYC theatre or to Folksbiene, the National Yiddish Theatre in NYC. I don't think they have plans yet to move the show to NYC, but check Mr. Bikel's website www.bikel.com for future info about the show. Also, they will be celebrating Mr. Bikel's 85th birthday on June 15th at Carnegie Hall. I'll be there. By the way, do you agree or disagree with my review?

Joel's review outshines by far any other written for Theodore Bikel's story telling fest, already extended. You outdid yourself, Joel. Sadly through my tears I have to say performances this weekend and next are sold out, the only time I have to see it! Hopefully, others enjoy the experience. I remember Bikel in The Disputation, a memorable performance as well. Maybe there's hope for a CD?

I saw Theodore Bikel's show (in rough draft, as it were) months ago on the top floor of the Kennedy Center. This sounds like such an improvement. I had family friends who saw the original "Fiddler" in the sixties and I wish they were still alive to read Joel's review. Now that Sholom Aleicham's grand daughter (Bel Kaufmann, author of "Up the Down Staircase") is still with us and nearing 100, isn't it great to think that Bikel, no youngster himself, is channeling her grand sire with such verve?
