Here we are into February and I’m just catching up on two of last year’s big winners. I’d seen Billy Elliot in London last April, but saved the New York production until it properly settled in for its long run on Broadway. I caught up with it at the Actors’ Fund Benefit on January 25th .  It  turned out to be a night and a half for the audience at these benefits (which is played for free by all the Broadway casts that run long enough) because each is always alive and ready to enjoy itself.
