DCTS gets a new look

newdctslogomedium

Welcome to our newly designed Web site.  We hope you find it inviting, and exciting, and that you can easily find your favorite sections, and maybe discover some new ones.  While we have wanted  – and badly needed – a new design for some time, it didn’t become a possibility until we received advertising support this winter from Constellation Theatre, Arena Stage, Synetic Theater, 1st Stage, MetroStage,  Washington Savoyards and The Rude Mechanicals.

Do you like it?

Just incredible!!! What a great change and overnight, the new design looks so wonderful, and adds another level of class and professionalism to this remarkable organization.

    Kudos to all!!

  2. avatar Frank Pierce says:

Much more readable. Almost too respectable. How about running some negative reviews?

  3. avatar Janet says:

Very nice. I like how there are more items visible on the screen. And to Frank: There have been many negative reviews. I have been warned to be nice, but but ….. you can’t have been reading DCTS. Was that too mean?

  4. avatar Jay Tilley says:

Love the new website Lorraine and all! While the previous design was very good, this new design is even better. It is even easier to read and navigate, and I agree with Scott that it “adds another level of class and professionalism.” Well put Scott.

It’s amazing how much DC Theatre Scene has grown over the past few years. This is yet another step up for what has become a leading source of news, reviews, interviews and other information on the ever-thriving and growing DC area theatre scene for theatre lovers on both sides of the curtain. Congrats! :-)

  5. I like the new look – cleaner and easier to read and find reviews. Congrats!!

  6. avatar Lily says:

Thanks to Mike Smith and all those who made this change possible. Now it’s easy and fun navigating the site! LBB

  7. avatar Jayne says:

It looks great, Lorraine! Very classy and easy to navigate. Congrats.

  8. avatar DCActor says:

SOOOOO much better. PotomacStages gets revamped and it is even worse now. DCTheatre scene gets revamped and it looks sleek and professional. Great work guys!

  9. avatar Mary Featherly says:

    Wonderful!!! I love it!!!

Very nice new look. So much easier to read!

  14. avatar Elena says:

What happened to link to ‘Their Reviews’ ? :(

  15. In the gold bar at the top of the page, hover your mouse over Reviews. You will see the archive for all Our Reviews, and the page for Their Reviews. Click that – and voila!

  16. avatar Paula Y. Bickham says:

Congratulations Lolita Marie Clayton — on your WATCH award! Posted it here (and hope you find this little greeting) ’cause I couldn’t access the comments area for WATCH awards article.

  17. avatar Gerry says:

    Terrific!

  18. avatar Sama says:

Is it possible to put the theater name in the Review Headline?

  19. avatar Rob says:

Lorraine, I think the link for “Reviews” is broken – holding the mouse over it doesn’t make anything appear, and clicking it doesn’t get you to reviews. The rest of the links at the top seem to be working.

  20. avatar Ted says:

Rob–it seems to work for me. I hover my mouse over the following four menu items “Find a Show”, “Reviews”, “Columns” and “Special Events” and get a drop-down menu under each one.

    What browser are you using?

  21. Some people are experiencing a problem with our drop down boxes. We’re working on it now. Hopefully, all will be swell soon.

  22. avatar Janet99 says:

Oh I agree with Sama about including the theater name. The company name would be good too. My gravatar is cool.

  23. avatar Ed K. says:

Much cleaner look. Thanks for the changes!

  24. avatar Jan P. says:

I liked it before, but this is incredible! Looks really awesome–very professional and user-friendly.
