I think we are fortunate at the Fringe to have a view into that process with the presentation of Magnum Opus. I liked Magnum Opus, its well written and performed.I loved the two muses. I felt like Robert when he commented about Shumann "Who is he and what's he doing here." I thought the Schumann role to be confusing at first. This is a good work and it can be improved. The Opera Alterna company presented here a very talented cast and orchestra. They all did an outstanding job. Maybe it was the work of those wonderful muses that made this work - hell they got me under their spell. The development of chamber opera or grand opera is a long process.
