I saw Andrew Long in “I Am My Own Wife” last week at Signature Theatre and thought it was very well done. I strongly recommend seeing it.

Good show, DC City Council! Best way to kill elective visits to downtown DC businesses, including theatres, restaurants, shops, museums, etc. Brilliant move! I won’t be coming downtown unless I absolutely have to. Outrageous!

So far, so good as far as free parking in Shirlington garages. A lot of people still don’t know about the Randolph Street parking garage which has large parking spaces, and lots of them. I happened to talk to someone at a store who said that she and her husband had planned to go to dinner and a movie, but left after circling the ‘Harris Teeter’ garage several times in search of a space. That’s not good. Also, I would like to mention for any readers who are out of the area that there is a brand new hotel right in Shirlington Village. It has great prices for the weekends, since most of their guests will be business travelers. So this is fantastic for people who will be coming to see the shows, cabarets and special events at Signature.

I just hope that the garages in Shirlington continue to be “free” to park in.

Sunday night in DC had dinner and a show. Neither would have made it in the new 2 hour limit. In the future will prefer the new Shirlington: Signature Theater, Harris Teeter, oodles of eating places, and free municipal parking.
