F#@king Up Everything

Not everything at the Fringe Festival is “hungry” – produced on a dime for the sheer joy of creating live theatre. F#@king Up Everything (let’s call it FUE), in spite of what the title conjures up, comes to us with a list of support personnel that fills one entire page in the program. These folks know how to put together a musical and they are deadly serious about doing it right. [Read more...]

Open Hearts

Miriam Kulick is a mensch. Now I probably should not be using that term for a woman because I think it’s supposed to just be used for men.  But here is the relevant definition as far as I’m concerned: “a person with the qualities one would hope for in a dear friend or trusted colleague.” Miriam Kulick is a mensch – a real human being, refreshingly without pretense. Night Sky is such a play. The playwright, Pat Connelly, has been working on Night Sky for several years, rewritten it numerous times and had two staged readings. [Read more...]

life, love, sex, death…and other works in progress (a multi-chakra extravaganza)

This is a very, very, very personal sort of one man show. Yes, it’s all about its creator, Stevie Jay, but somewhere it’s supposed to be all about us – that we relate so closely and profoundly to what he is experiencing that we see ourselves in him.

Hotel Fuck

You could make up a lot of things in your head about a play called Hotel Fuck before ever entering the theater. Written by Richard Foreman for the Ontological-Hysteric Theatre in 1998, Hotel Fuck (hereinafter to be referred to as HF) makes it its business to defy description and assault your sensibilities, most  particularly regarding any remnants of prudishness you might have left regarding the act of sexual intercourse.
