On Saturday, March 28th, Georgetown will be the center for a day-long SWAN (Support Women Artists Now!) festival organized by The Georgetown Theatre Co., Women in Film & Video and Doorway Arts Ensemble Theatre Co.
Readings start at 10 am with Assistance without Resistance from Doorway Arts at Café La Ruche. Sketch comedy by Curvy by Nature, a reading of His Nightmare, and The Three Musketeers, all at Barnes & Noble start at 1:45, and a play reading marathon at 2 at Grace Church. The day also includes film screenings, poetry readings, and discussions before SWAN Day ends with a staged reading of Juliana Avery’s Hollywood Ending at Grace Church.

This is the second year for international SWAN Day, which takes place on the last Saturday of Women’s History Month (March). There’s lots to discover on the SWAN Web site. We came across weekly podcasts of women’s Independent Music ( Goddess Radio in Berlin, MD).
