An article in this month’s Washingtonian magazine reminds us that the WAPAVA (The Washington Area Performing Arts Video Archives) continues to preserve performances through video tape and present them for viewing. Four Helen Hayes nominated productions – The History Boys (Studio Theatre), Nixon’s Nixon (Round House Theatre), The Last Days of Judas Iscariot (Forum Theatre) and The Imaginary Invalid (Shakespeare Theatre) – are among the 22 performances taped in 2008. Videos can be viewed at the Michelle Smith Performing Arts Library, University of Maryland, or the Martin Luther King Public Library. Full details here with links to the video archive.
How terrific that the DC area is getting its own Lincoln Center Archive of sorts. I missed Judas Iscariot and now hope to catch it on film.
