A musical biography of Mahalia Jackson starring the incomparable Bernardine Mitchell, winner of the 2005 Helen Hayes Award for this role. Mahalia chronicles the life of the “Queen of Gospel Music” from her beginnings in the segregated South to her debut on the stage of Carnegie Hall, culminating in her triumphant performance on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial.
