Solas Nua is giving Washington audiences a chance to see and help shape experimental works in development, straight from Dublin. Titled ‘Project Brand New’, the mini-festival is here for three performances only, starting Thurs, Sept 11th at Flashpoint.

TheatreClub is based on Dublin audience’s emailed responses to the question “what have you learned today.” 565+, from Dublin schoolteacher Marie O’Rourke is a play about survival. “There comes a time in all our lives when we look for help, when we reach crisis, when we will try anything that helps.”
Finally, dancers Emma O’ Kane, who was just named Outstanding Dancer of the Year by Dance Europe, and Muirne Bloomer will perform their hit from the Absolut Fringe Festival, The Ballet Ruse, “Dancing to a sumptuous score ranging from Tchaikovsky to Lady Gaga, these seasoned performers will surprise and entertain as they struggle from barre to bar in their quest for peace and reconciliation.”
The program, which consists of all three pieces, is expected to last 2 hours. Thurs, Fri and Sat, Nov 11 – 13 at 7pm at Flashpoint, 916 G Street NW, Washington, DC. Tickets are $15, available by calling 800 494-TIXS or order online.
Solas Nua has a surprise in store for some lucky passersby on Friday, Nov 12th, when acclaimed Galway composer/singer Julie Feeney, who performed in concert July 9th, will appear in a “shop window popup concert”. The time and location will be revealed only to those who follow on Twitter: @solasnuacht.
