The Helen Hayes Awards, which certainly knows their way around great musicals and glamorous parties – each year they throw a lavish cast party following the Helen Hayes awards – have created a new monthly event, a chic piano bar singalong and everyone is invited.
This month’s event takes place Monday, January 31, 2011 from 7 – 10pm in the Quill Bar at The Jefferson, 1200 16th St NW, Washington DC. Band leader and pianist Glenn Pearson will be at the piano and some special guest performers will undoubtedly drop by. At last month’s holiday event, Will Gartshore, Kate Debelack, Jason McCool, and some of the cast of Keegan’s Rent joined theatre lovers around the piano.
The staff of the Quill Bar will offer drinks and appetizer specials with a portion of the evenings proceeds going to support the Helen Hayes Awards audience building programs. Discounted parking is available.
The nominees for the 2011 Helen Hayes Awards will be announced Monday, Feb 28th. The Awards ceremony will be held April 25th at the Warner Theatre.
