How to inspire and excite young people and help ensure the artists and audiences of the future? Philanthropist and super-fan Mark Shugoll thinks he has one answer: start early. Since 1989, Artspeak! has been bringing student audiences together with actors, musicians, composers, dancers and other theatremakers.

An Artspeak! evening includes panel discussions, lively question and answer sessions, performances, contests and autograph sessions. Adults are welcome at the popular free events, and are encouraged to bring a student along with them.
This month, Artspeak! presents Broadway performers Alice Ripley (Next to Normal (Tony Award, Best Actress), Side Show (Tony nomination), Sunset Boulevard, The Who’s Tommy, Les Miserables), Capathia Jenkins (Martin Short: Fame Becomes Me, Caroline or Change, The Look of Love, The Civil War) and Darius de Haas (Rent, Carousel, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Marie Christine).
Artspeak! is Tuesday, January 31st beginning at 7pm at Albert Einstein High School, 11135 Newport Mill Road in Kensington, Maryland. No tickets or reservations needed.

Artspeak! is underwritten by Bethesda-based Shugoll Research, one of the top market research firms in the country, which has conducted important surveys of the theatre community, locally and nationally.
