Call for artists and volunteers
Artomatic, the area’s biggest exposition of visual and performing arts, has announced that this year’s free arts event will take in Crystal City at the Transwestern Presidential Tower (entrance at 2511 S. Clark St.) from May 18th to June 24th, 2012.
Artomatic, now in its 11th year, transforms empty spaces into vibrant arts communities that celebrate creativity and create a unique and exciting free event for tens of thousands of visitors.
Any artist can participate in Artomatic – there is no criteria, and art is selected on a first-come, first serve basis. Visual artists can click here for more information. Details for performing artists are here.
Every aspect of Artomatic’s huge arts event is completely volunteer-run. Volunteer kickoff is Saturday, Jan. 28, 11am to 2pm at 2511 S. Clark St, Arlington, VA. Register here.
The last Artomatic was in the summer of 2009, when it drew 76,000 visitors to a new building close to Nationals Stadium, to view the work of more than 2,500 artists and performers. You can find that catalog here.
