With their announcement today, Imagination Stage has taken a creative leap from the stage to the page. P. Nokio, the popular hip-hop musical playing at Imagination Stage, is now available in eBook form for Amazon’s Kindle for $2.99 and, coming soon, for Barnes & Noble’s Nook.

P.Nokio: A Hip-Hop Musical is the company’s first book adaptation for e-readers, with more to come. “We intend to continue to create eBooks for some of our productions, such as Wake Up, Brother Bear! and Mouse on the Move,” says Managing Director Brett Crawford.
The idea to create books was born from a casual dinner conversation: why not create books for Imagination Stage productions for which the theater holds the copyright? Children could “take that show home with them and extend the theater-going experience.”
Now, readers around the world will be able to this remix of the classic Pinocchio tale which takes place in Hip-Hopia, where G.Petto is a designer of game characters and P.Nokio is one of his designs that magically comes to life with the help of the Graffiti Fairy.
P.Nokio was written by Psalmayene 24, and adapted into book form by A.M. Bilyeu. Jackie Littman, a former apprentice of Imagination Stage, is the illustrator.
P. Nokio runs thru March 11, 2012 at Imagination Stage, 4908 Auburn Avenue Bethesda , MD.
