Shakespeare Theatre Company is accepting registration for two classes being taught by Mark Jaster and Sabrina Mandell, who together create original stylized works as Happenstance Theater.

Jaster leads a class titled ‘Mime Intensive.’ Explore techniques and exercises from Etienne Decroux and Marcel Marceau. Jaster, who studied with both of these 20th-Century masters, will teach a synthesis from his 25+ years of performance experience. Exercises will address stillness, focus, articulation, clarity of gesture, illusion, narrative techniques, character and style, and some historical context.
– Saturday, March 10th from 10am to 3pm at The Forum at Sidney Harman Hall, 610 F Street NW, Washington, DC.
Sabrina Mandell teaches ‘Clowning Intensive’, a super-charged, slam-dunk laboratory where the classical actor can get down to the nitty-gritty of what it means to “take the stage” and PLAY.
– Saturday, April 7 from 10am to 3pm at Melton Studio, 4th floor, 516 Eighth Street SE, Washington, DC.
Each class is $75. Details and registration are here.
