This show is brief and funny. So this review will be brief.

Why So Serious is twenty-five minutes or so with the comedian Trevor Joyner. He is a funny guy who has an easy manner with his audiences. His material is not cutting-edge: his crazy grandma, bizarre Twitter abbreviations, how every African-American thinks he’s tight with Barak Obama, and so on, but his timing is good.
He gently teases the audience. Everybody laughs. When it’s over he says good night, which is probably a good idea. I’d rather have twenty-five minutes of good material than twenty-five minutes of good material stuffed with thirty minutes of filler.
Joyner has a warm-up act (I’m counting this in the twenty-five minutes): Anthony Spillman. Tony is a comic-in-training, working on getting his comedy chops down, but like Joyner he is an easy and ingratiating presence on stage. He may be slumming a bit; he says his real ambition is to get a million followers on Twitter, after which he will retire.
His Twitter handle is @tonyisanthony. I’m not implying anything.
Tim rates this 4 out of 5.
