Sunday night, January 20th, in Alexandria, Virginia, nominations for the the 13th annual Washington Area Community Theatre Awards (WATCH) were announced from the stage of the Little Theatre of Alexandria.
WATCH represents 33 community theatres in the area, each of which send representatives from their theatre to judge the productions of fellow WATCH member companies. The judge’s have the task of scoring each production into 38 production and performance categories. In 2012, WATCH companies submitted 43 musicals and 83 plays to be adjudicated.

Port Tobacco Players (LaPlata, MD) – 17
Reston Community Players (Reston, VA) – 15
Colonial Players of Annapolis (Annapolis, MD) – 15
Little Theatre of Alexandria (Alexandria, MA) – 15

This year’s WATCH awards will be presented Sunday, March 17th at 7pm at the Birchmere in Alexandria, VA.
