July 11, 2013 — Fringe gets the party started.
Thursday night brought the summer’s eighth annual Capital Fringe Festival roaring to life, with over 30 productions opening on Thursday and scores more making premieres over the weekend.
The Baldacchino Gypsy Tent Bar proves itself as hearty a hotbed as ever for good food and drink, live music, breezy outdoor conversation, and social mash-ups for artists, theatergoers, critics, producers, families, and friends.
If Thursday’s buzz at the Tent Bar is any indication, it’ll be one of the Fringe Festival’s most eclectic years yet.
Members of DC Theatre Scene’s reviewing corps were there all night, schmoozing with Tent-goers, catching opening-night performances, and getting a read on what amounted to a big, fun crowd. Hunter Styles snapped a few photos of some of the Tent’s many denizens:
