Dane Figueroa Edidi, who gave a memorable performance in force/collision’s production of Shape last year, is about to unveil her musical, Roaring: the Musical, written with Andrew Morrissey this Monday, August 5, 8pm at Takoma Station Tavern.

Set in Harlem in the 1920s, the musical centers around an African American performance artist and her three children’s struggle with issues of gender, artistry and finding ways to win their mother’s affection.
Roaring is being directed by force/collision Artistic Director John Moletress and features a cast of twelve local actors: Kendell K. Lee, Dane Figueroa Edidi, Stephanie Leonardi, S.Lewis Feemster, Michael Kevin Darnall, Mikey Cafarelli, David Tuttle, Xavier S. Carnegie, Barry Moton, Ryan Patrick Welsh, Emily Lentz and Logan Sutherland.
