Shakespeare Theatre Company announced late Friday that an agreement has been signed which will allow the theatre company to remain in the Lansburgh Theatre. A long simmering dispute between Shakespeare Theatre Company and its landlord, Lansburgh Theatre, Inc., which erupted into a threatened eviction, has had both parties in court since June, 2012.
While the exact terms of the settlement have not been released, Chris Jennings, Managing Director of the Tony Award winning theatre company announced these specifics: “Under the terms of this agreement, we will stay in the Lansburgh Theatre under a succession of 20-year leases which will automatically renew as long as STC is operating as a theatre company and properly maintaining the premises.”

Measure for Measure, now onstage at the Lansburgh Theatre, is scheduled to run through October 27, 2013. Details and tickets.
