Acclaimed Broadway actress Kathleen Chalfant will perform a staged reading of Lynn Redgrave’s Shakespeare for My Father Tuesday, November 12 at 7:30 pm at Georgetown University.

The play, a personal portrait of the author’s lifelong longing for the attention of her father, the Shakespearean actor Michael Regrave, is interwoven with scenes from Shakespeare, and became a solo piece for Lynn Redgrave which earned a Tony nomination for the celebrated actress. Chalfant, a close friend to Redgrave, has received acclaim for her roles in, among others, Angels in America, Wit, and her performance in A Delicate Balance at Arena Stage.
This is a return to the GU campus for Chalfant, who has been seen in the Tennessee Williams Centennial Festival’s ‘Camino Real, Studs Terkel’s Will the Circle Be Unbroken, and History Matters/Back to the Future, a reading featuring scenes by historic women playwrights.
The performance begins at 7:30pm, Tuesday, November 12 at the Davis Performing Arts Center, Gonda Theatre, on the campus of Georgetown University. Details and tickets.
