We know you share our love of live theatre, and we encourage you to find ways to support the theatre companies in our area. But why not support the news outlet which supports all of them with a tax deductible contribution?
This has been a busy year for us here at DC Theatre Scene. We posted 977 articles – news, interviews and reviews (that makes 4,911 since we started in 2007). We’ve greatly expanded our coverage to include opera, cabaret, important television and film events. We’ve delivered a brand new website, we’ve presented our Gary Maker Audience Award, we’ve been a theatre concierge for visitors, we’ve discovered new writers and we’ve given you all the chance to vote for your favorite performers and productions.

Our audience, expressed in visits to the site, has numbered just under one million.
And it’s all been free. For just the click of a mouse.
But we need your help. It’s expensive to run a feature-rich website of this size. It takes an enormous amount of staff time. It takes 23 dedicated writers. And DC Theatre Scene is the only DC-area theater site which pays its writers. Just as we believe in professional theater, we believe in professional theater journalism. We’re proud to have been able to bring you great theatre journalism by Jayne Blanchard, Hunter Styles, Christopher Henley, Tim Treanor, Susan Galbraith, Rosalind Lacy, Steve McKnight, among others.
Although DC Theatre Scene advertisers cover a portion of our operating costs, we depend on supporters like you to help us meet our expenses each quarter.
So, before we close the curtain on 2013, we hope you will go here to make your 2013 tax-deductible contribution to DC Theatre Scene. We would be most appreciative.
In the words of the theater cat in Archy and Mehitabel ….. “applause, applause, a little applause..”
