As the world learned this past February, the skeletal remains discovered beneath a car park in Leicester, England, were proven to be those of King Richard III. You may remember DCTS’ details of the discovery, “It’s him!”
Geneticist Turi King and fieldwork director Matthew Morris, both part of the Greyfriars Project that discovered the body and reported the subsequent DNA identification, will discuss their findings in a lecture titled “Finding Richard,” Wednesday, February 5 at Folger Shakespeare Library, 201 E Capitol St SE, Washington, DC. This special presentation comes at a time when two theatre companies will be presenting William Shakespeare’s tale of the battling Plantagenet king. Richard III will be onstage at Folger, January 28 – March 9th, and across the river in Herndon, Virginia at NextStop Theatre, January 30 – February 23rd.
