If you are an actor and you’ve been thinking of entering the 2014 Monologue Madness, well, your time’s nearly up. Edward Daniels, who began the fierce acting competition four years ago, reports that there are only 27 slots remaining for the March 16 Open Call. The chance to sign up ends when all slots are filled, or on March 15th.
The Championship round is open to the public and is being held on April 6th at the Miracle Theatre (tickets go on sale March 10). The top 32 contestants receive prizes with the Champion taking home $1,000 plus entry into the preliminary rounds of the Manhattan Monologue Madness in NYC, all travel accommodations paid.
Last year’s Champion, Karina Hilleard, will be performing on ABC7/News Channel 8’s “Let’s Talk Live” this coming Monday, 3/10 at 11:00 am. If you can’t tune in then, the segment will be posted here.
Daniels announced “This year’s judges’ panel is one of our toughest yet, including Kimberly Skyrme Casting, Betsy Royall Casting, Taylor Royal Casting, John Pallotta Studio of Acting, et al. We’ve partnered with UBER DC, who will be offering all audience members who are new users to the service, a $25 credit to ride in style to Championship Sunday at the Miracle Theatre!”
