Just released – Synetic Theater has begun offering free fitness videos on their YouTube channel – inspired by their popular fitness classes. Synetic Fitness is an exercise class that develops strength, conditioning, and flexibility, based on the training techniques that Synetic actors use to prepare for physical theater productions. Synetic Fitness videos and classes are for anyone at any level, not just performers or actors.
Here, company member Tori Bertocci leads the first video workout
and, in the second in the series, acclaimed actor Alex Mills leads an eight minute session on Cardio and Abbs.
Subscribing to the Synetic YouTube Channel will alert you when more workout videos are released.
Registration is now open for Synetic Theater’s fall session of classes are being held September 8 and November 29, 2014. Classes include programs for elementary, middle and high school students, as well as adults.
For Adults
Adult professional acting classes (ages 16 and over) include Synetic Technique, Ballet Basics, Beginner’s Modern Dance, and Adult Acting in Physical Theater. Adult classes are designed to complement one another, providing a balanced immersion in the various techniques of physical theater stemming from the rigorous training that Synetic company members undergo.
New this Fall, Synetic will offer Ballet Basics and Beginners Modern Dance.
For Kids
Classes for children include Elementary Adventures in Acting, for ages six to nine years old, and Middle School Foundations, for ages 10 to 12.Synetic is the premier source for physical theater education in the greater DC area, and classes use Synetic’s signature style of Physical Theater to create athletic, creative kids.
For Teens
Teen Preparatory Program
The Teen Program for high-school students includes voice, movement, acting and devising theatre classes. This program provides foundational and advanced training to teens with professional aspirations, offering a holistic approach to actor training that prepares students for creating characters, working in an ensemble, and develops generative artists capable of conceiving, adapting, writing, and staging their own dramatic works through a collaborative process.

Prices range from $180 to $360. Drop-in rates for adult classes are $25 per class. Flex Passes are available for $350 and allow members to attend four out of six adult classes each week. Pricing is very competitive for local classes, and are affordable without lowering the quality of instruction. Flexible payment plans are available, and packages offer the opportunity to save when subscribing for a season of education.
