The Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts is the seat of power for entertainment in Washington, D.C. As a living memorial to President John F. Kennedy, the Kennedy Center furthers America’s “contribution to the human spirit” with an all-encompassing performance schedule as well as enrichment programs for emerging and established artists. But it can often seem like a restaurant backwater, far removed from dining options. If you want to stray away from the Kennedy Center’s Roof Terrace Restaurant and KC Café, a little planning will be required but rest assured that you need not compromise first-rate art with the $5 Foot Long.
Whether you are seeing a play, musical, ballet or one of the performances offered daily at the Millennial Stage, check out these dining options to compliment your Kennedy Center experience.

Farmers, Fishers and Bakers
Farmers, Fishers and Bakers is a locavore’s paradise. With a farm to table menu, Farmers features a regional, seasonal and exquisite menu earning its place as one of the Georgetown’s Washington Harbour’s prize spots. A look down the menu is like a tour around the farm with grass-fed meat cuts, fresh seafood and baked-daily bread. Farmer’s cocktail menu takes artisanal to another level with their own proprietary line of rye whiskey and gin distilled in partnership with Copper Fox Distillery in Sperryville, Virginia. An eye-catching interior of recycled and reclaimed materials, like a wall of artfully arranged tire-rubber, keeps guests attention almost as well as the food.

Campono (now ForcellaEatery)
Only in its first year, Campono has established a reputation for a mean pie. Located in the Watergate Hotel, Campono dishes out hand rolled pizzas that have been fired in brick ovens and topped with a peppering of flavors. Other quick and economical Italian standbys like hearty hot & cold submarine sandwiches as well as colorful salads round out the menu and the in-house gelato makes for a smooth finish. Campono’s outdoor patio affords a view of the Potomac, and with the Kennedy Center in eye sight, you can be sure to make it the show on time.
