Musician Tom Teasley’s percussive talents will orchestrate two shows for Constellation in 2015-2016, but Tom will undoubtedly be sitting out both Equus (Jan 14 – Feb 14) and the show which landed Constellation in this ‘Noticeable Departures’ piece – the company will be producing Avenue Q. (Oct 22 – Nov 23).
And in Baltimore, Center Stage will literally be packing its bags mid-season for a move to Towson University to allow renovations on their Calvert Street theatre. Architects for both Everyman in Baltimore and The New Vic Theatre in London will transform the Calvert Street space. While at Towson, Center Stage will do an all-female version of As You Like It (Jan 15 – Feb 14) , and Charlayne Woodard’s The Night Watcher (April 8 – May 8).
The National Theatre continues its blockbuster Broadway tradition, bookending its season with contemporized versions of musical favorites: Rodgers + Hammerstein’s Cinderella (Nov 18 – 29) and The Wizard of Oz (May 3 – 15) which has Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice adding music and lyrics by to the Arlen/Harburg score, so no fear “Over the Rainbow” fans.
