We probably all have an answer to ‘What show changed your life?’ For DCTS editor Lorraine Treanor, her path to being an English teacher changed the day she saw Elaine Stritch perform in Sail Away.
The day after learning they were Tony nominees, Jonathan Mandel asked those gathered at this year’s Tony Awards press meet and greet to name the show that changed everything for them.
Tommy Tune, Terrence McNally, playmakers Ayad Achtar and Jeanine Tesori, the creators of Hand to God and others all remembered that certain show. Including one performer who had gave up banking for a life in theatre.
The 69th Annual Tony Awards® will be broadcast live from Radio City Music Hall, on CBS, on Sunday June 7 at 8/7c, hosted by Alan Cumming and Kristin Chenoweth.
