“It’s such big news. It’s all anyone in DC is talking about.” So said Trey Graham on Channel WUSA 9 last night in response to the announcement yesterday that Hamilton is coming to the Kennedy Center as part of the 2017-2018 season.
As Trey points out in the news segment below, subscribing to two seasons at the Kennedy Center might theoretically be a better deal than dragging yourself to New York to spend $3,000-plus on a single top-ticket orchestra seat to the Broadway production. After all, the entry-level season buy at the Kennedy Center starts around $120 for this year, and probably won’t be too dramatically much more next year. And a season purchase does, after all, get you into a season’s worth of shows that should still be classy entertainments, even if they’re not the universe’s hottest properties.
Remember, though: That qualifying buy just gets you *a shot* at a later purchase of priority tickets when DC seats for Hamilton finally go on sale. And there’s no word on when they will — or how much they’ll cost.
