Everyman Theatre’s opening night parties are always grand affairs. But their Great American Rep Opening Night party last April, celebrating their productions of Death of a Salesman and Streetcar Named Desire, became an even more heightened affair thanks to The Cooking Channel.
Last March, producers of the new series Cake Hunters came to Baltimore looking for great cake bakers and a special event. Back then, Managing Director Jonathan K. Waller and Artistic Director Vincent M. Lancisi were searching for desserts to satisfy the 400 people on their guest list. The story of that search and the three bakers vying to be the chosen All American cake can be seen on A Cake for Everyman, which debuts tonight on The Cooking Channel at 10pm.
So tune in or set your recorder to see the incredible cake, the high-stakes drama, and the extravagant party in this reality TV show from Everyman’s Great American Rep Opening Night party.
We’re all a bit Fringe frenzied here in DC these weeks, and Everyman on The Cooking Channel is a great bit of Fringe marketing. Come see a show, all cake lovers!
