As we reported earlier, on learning the news of Joel’s illness, Carolyn Griffin of MetoStage and Lorraine Treanor of DC Theatre Scene began planning a gala cabaret event to honor Joel’s work. That GoFundMe event, which has raised $5,744 to help with Joel’s mounting medical bills, has sold out, the organizers reported this morning.
Contributions on the main GoFundMe page for Joel has raised $17,064 with a goal of $30,000.
I would like to waitlist for a seat.and can volunteer to help usher or sell concessions that night.

Better theater than cocaine or drugs.
I have often said I am addicted to theatre and never knew that Joel was referred to as a theatre addict. God bless our theatre community and the USA.
Way to go Lorraine! We are blessed to be among such great loving people.
