Of the 257 shows already announced, 54 will be comedies and 63 will be musicals, many of them new musicals.
Last year’s Pulitzer Prize winner, Jackie Sibblies Drury’s Fairview, will get its regional premiere at Woolly Mammoth Theatre next month.
Fans of the great August Wilson will be able to catch Fences, Jitney, Radio Golf and Seven Guitars this season.
Two productions will travel: The Keegan Theatre production of Airness and Olney Theatre Center’s The Royale will find second homes at 1st Stage.
And, speaking of travel, by next summer, Hamilton will be back at The Kennedy Center.
