After an exciting Kickoff Party, and weeks of active buying from bargain hunters, we checked in with Amy Austin, President and CEO of theatreWashington for an update heading into the last week Theatre Week’s last few days: “Buyers from over 40 states … over 6,000 tickets so far, an increase of 156% over last year’s sales.”
Theatre Week’s discounted offer of $15 or $35 tickets can still be snatched up until the official close of September 29.
If the September 29 deadline is not enough time to catch that show you’ve been waiting for, theatreWashington and TodayTix are offering a Theatre Week Encore Offer for shows opening after September 29.
Top selling shows have been Assassins at Signature Theatre, Fabulation at Mosaic Theater Company, and Fairview at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Company, and remarkably, there are still more tickets left.
The full list of shows is available at TodayTix, and they include Nancy Robinette in Everybody at Shakespeare Theatre Company, Synetic’s return of the splashy Tempest and even the just announced move of hot hit The Smuggler to Round House Theatre. Look for the “Theatre Week” banner on the show’s thumbnail for shows honoring or applying a discount.
