Nick Payne’s play Incognito, through three mysterious stories, asks whether memory and identity are nothing but illusions, will perform February, 2021. Dates and venue TBA. More information

“We’re thrilled to dive into two substantive pieces in our first season, both of which will really challenge our artists and our audiences,” said Steve Quintilian, Co-Director of Encore Theater Company. “We think this a perfect way to introduce ourselves, what we stand for, and the kind of art we want to bring to the community.”
When asked about how the company name was chosen, Julie Lloyd, Co-Director of Encore Theater told DCTS: “We liked the double meaning of Encore – in the theatre sense, but also in the sense of it being a second (or third, or fourth…) opportunity for our actors, many of whom have a nontraditional background or a nonlinear pathway to theatre. We embrace performers of all backgrounds, and recognize that many talented professional performers in our area have day jobs or something else in their lives that makes them interesting, well-rounded individuals. We want to celebrate that rather than feel like it needs to be hidden.”
Open Non Equity auditions for Next to Normal will be held March 15 from 2pm to 7pm at Living and Growing in Silver Spring, MD. Casting breakdown registration for audition times are available on Encore’s website.
