The short answer to the question: how many shows are canceled due to coronavirus concerns is “Most of Them.” You’re stocked up, right – toilet paper, soaps and munchies, GrubHub on speed dial. But before you hunker down for the next few weeks, there’s still time to catch one last weekend of live theatre around town.
These shows are closing early which means some very good actors are making their unplanned final performances:
The popular Go-Go musical, Head Over Heels, from Monumental Theatre or perhaps you’re up for the relationship comedy at Theater J, The Wanderers at Theater J. 4615 Theatre Company invites you to take a stroll through the “museum of the future” with Museum 2040. While at Studio Theatre, the powerful Pass Over closes this Sunday.
Ongoing: Henry the Fifth, the fourth history in Brave Spirits’ Shakespeare history rep you’ve been reading about, has just opened. (CORRECTION: This production will perform this weekend, then all performances canceled until further notice. Weep. closes tomorrow at Caos on F. The new works WOMXN on Fire Festival finishes its run at Keegan. And, in the face of the shutdowns, Spooky Action Theatre is opening Will Eno’s The Realistic Joneses.
See you in the theatre.
