A few area theatre companies are beginning to offer live performances. One of them is Creative Cauldron in Falls Church, VA which is presenting its summer cabaret season for at-home viewing and live from Creative Cauldron’s new outdoor setting.
The virtual viewings will be Thursdays starting at 8pm. Silver Spring singer/songwriter Chris Urquiaga kicks off the series on August 13 with Latin Pop Summer. Lynn Veronneau and Ken Avis from the French Canadian group Veronneau will perform on Aug 20 with more to follow. Tickets are $25 for access to the show and viewing party. Patrons will receive a private YouTube link, which will remain active for the next week. Details.
Creative Cauldron has moved its live weekend performances to Cherry Hill Park in Falls Church, VA. The programming is decidedly eclectic from musical theatre cabarets to jazz and classical concerts. This Friday night, it’s musical theatre with Wyn and Leigh Delano. Saturday night, r&b, jazz artist Alison Crockett will grace the Creative Cauldron outdoor stage. Others scheduled: Kathy Halenda (August 21), Irene Jalenti (August 22), Nora Palka (August 28), Yasmin Williams (August 29), Wesley Diener (September 4), Seán Heely (September 5), Jade Jones (September 11), Tia Rountree (September 12), Abby Middleton (September 18), Griefcat (September 19), and Alan Naylor & company’s Night at Newcastle (September 25).
The one hour concerts start at 8pm. Patrons are advised to bring their own chairs for the marked, socially distanced spaces. Masks are required at all times. Tickets are $30. Details.
