About this event:
‘Capers is a stirring blend of theater, documentary and activism. This one-woman show is based on the stories of families at DC’s Arthur Capper/Carrollsburg public housing projects – nicknamed ‘Capers – who protested the government-funded demolition of their neighborhood.
‘Capers toured nationally, was included as part of high school and university course curriculum, and featured in the documentary Chocolate City. Returning to the piece after over 10 years, ‘Capers looks at how a changing city affects the lives of those within it.
It’s as simple as it sounds. An hour before every show, a majority of our tickets will be available at whatever price you want to pay, first-come, first-serve. YOU set the price. YOU decide what a fair price is in exchange for good theatre. You determine what you can pay. If that’s a dollar, you are more than welcome. If you are willing to pay more to help defray the costs of making theatre, that’s great too!
(Pay What You Want tickets are only available an hour before the show as walk-ups)
