An Iliad
by Lisa Peterson and Denis O’Hare
based on Homer’s The Iliad, translated by Robert Fagles
directed by Dan Crane
starring Esther Williamson
with live music by punk etherealists Hand Grenade Job
The Iliad comes to life in this visceral modern-day retelling. Honoring the great tradition of epic poetry, the urgency of Homer’s classic bursts forth from a single narrator Taffety Punk company member Esther Williamson with live music accompaniment. The story of Achilles’ rage and Hector’s passion lives on as a warning to us all of the perils of war and wrath. Wars end, but is there an end to war?
