From the Mouths of Monsters finds troubled teenager Michelle struggling to work up the confidence to speak. A mysterious doctor gives her a mask to help, but the gift possesses supernatural powers that give her newfound words amazing power — and also the potential to cause terrible harm. Loosely inspired by Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, this contemporary, highly theatrical production comes from award-winning playwright and break beat poet Idris Goodwin. The play features two actors who riff on the classic monster tale in unexpected ways, with surprising relevance to today’s audiences.
