A violent storm is more than the harbinger of rain in Natalie Piegari’s Safe as Houses. In the play, an ordinary suburban family struggles to survive both a supernatural and natural disaster.
Isabel, Nora, and Henry are trying to decide what to do about the storm’s potential for flooding. Do they stay or do they go? The decision is delayed when a knock on the door brings the past roaring into the present.
Safe as Houses is a provocative exploration of time, family, and the endurance of love.
