The National Tour cast of Les Misérables, currently onstage at the Kennedy Center, will step out on October 24 to present a concert to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, an organization which supports individuals afflicted by critical health issues, including but not limited to AIDS. Tickets are $15, or $10 for students.
The concert, titled “Signature Songs: An Evening of Broadway Showstoppers”, a collection of the Les Miz company’s favorite show-stopping songs from the biggest shows on Broadway shared to show a different side of each performer. Showtime is 8 PM at the Town Danceboutique, 2009 8th Street NW in Washington. Potomac Fever, a subsidiary of the Gay Men’s Chorus of DC, will periodically join the cast members during the show.
Tickets are available at the door on the day of the concert. All proceeds go directly to BC/EFA. You can stay in touch with the event on their Facebook page.
Les Misérables runs thru Oct. 30, 2011, at The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, 2700 F Street NW, Washington, D.C.
