I met first-time Fringe goer David Frantz under the tent at Fort Fringe as a brief shower scooted overhead early Saturday evening, July 14th. He had just come from seeing We Tiresias, which featured his college roommate.
He explained to me how the three-man show was a constructed from a series of flashbacks. And what did he think of it? “It was different,” David said, as he contrasted it with the other show he’s seen most recently, To Kill a Mockingbird. But it wasn’t We Tiresias, David remarked, that was the craziest thing he’d seen today, “it was someone walking around in a clown suit.”

I discover, that like me, David is from South Central PA and we chat about “home” before getting around to his favorite thing about the DC area. David states the best thing about this area, “is that it’s the center of government politics.” This makes more sense in a moment when I ask him about his bucket list. He’s about to check off a biggie.
David is starting a law degree in Pittsburgh this year and wants to specialize in general practice law. His goal is to eventually have his “name on a wooden sign outside a downtown office,” the way they look in Gettysburg.
For anyone craving delicious, wood-fired pepperoni pizza, David recommends Fireworks Pizza in Arlington, which also happens to have a “pretty good happy hour.” David’s making me hungry; a beer and pizza would taste pretty delicious right about now.
