theatreWashington’s annual theatreWeek is with us again, and this year it’s lasting a little more than a week — until October 2. Thirty-four Washington-area theaters are offering tickets to musicals, dramas, comedies, and theatre for young audiences for $36 and less for patrons who purchase during this golden period.
Examples:
Cloud 9 at Studio Theatre from $36.
Shakespeare Theatre Company’s Romeo and Juliet from $35.
The Little Foxes at Arena Stage from $35.
The Last Schwartz at Theater J from $15.
Mosaic Theatre: Satchmo at the Waldorf for as little as $12.
Flying V presents Be Awesome: A Theatrical Mixtape of the 90s from $10.
“We’ve got two goals this year,” theatreWashington President and CEO said in kicking off the event. “First, we want to see a lot of new faces in our theatres, people who have never tried a live performance, or who aren’t aware of all that Washington has to offer. Second, we want to see our dedicated theatregoers trying something new. We want to see folks who love The Shakespeare Theatre Company venturing over to Woolly Mammoth. We want to see folks who love musicals try a serious drama. There are literally no limits to what’s available in this theatre community.”
